Twin Chimneys Families,

Our TCE community is the very best! All of us were able to come together and raise $59,678.75. We almost doubled our goal of $34,000. WOW! All Pioneers get to celebrate with a popcorn/PJ party! Some students will be attending a FOAM party during our next early release day and 21 students raised enough money to earn “principal for the day”. Lastly, we will have our Walkathon on Oct. 12. These incentives are much deserved for the amazing efforts of our students and families. See below for an update from PTO, regarding where fundraiser funds will be going as well as what PTO events are coming up this month!

We are only two weeks away from the completion of the first quarter. With that in mind, if they have not yet already, your child(ren)'s teacher(s) should be contacting you to set up parent/teacher conferences. These will be held virtually and are scheduled for Oct. 27 and 28. Please ensure you are able to set time aside to make it to these conferences, as they are essential to understanding where your child is currently and what their goals are for the end of the school year. You’d be amazed by all the growth they've already made just in the past month.

Both of us have had many opportunities to see the TCE staff and students at work and we are just amazed at what these students are capable of. Kindergarten has been working hard on a new phonics program. First grade has been building their mathematical toolboxes by showing multiple strategies to add and subtract. Second graders have been immersed in their writing as they are working hard to create narratives with clear sequences of events. Third grade has been sharpening their addition and subtraction strategies and showing a deeper understanding of word problems by creating bar models to match their mathematical stories. Fourth graders are creating bar models to help them better understand real world multiplication problems and fifth graders have been focusing on using dialogue and details to develop challenging character experiences.

We continue to focus on the safety and education of all of our students and we thank you for all your continued support! We are better together!

STUDENT VIDEO CONTEST

Every day, youth absorb mixed messages about harmful substances like drugs and alcohol. On one side, they hear about the inherent dangers. But, they also see their role models, heroes, and influencers consume harmful substances without getting to see the shadow side. At the Natural High Foundation, we believe in creating a different message – guiding students to find and pursue their natural highs. We want to give students the opportunity to think reflectively about who they are, what lights them up, and how to take ownership for making the best choices. We are collecting videos and pictures of our TCE students performing and talking about their own individual talents that they have. Click the button below for all of the details!

Greetings from your PTO!

We are excited about this upcoming school year and the great start we have had. Our Walkathon was an overwhelming success thanks to YOU! Together we raised $59,678.75. We can't wait to purchase walkie talkies, shade for the playground, and so much more! Thank you for supporting Twin Chimneys Elementary.

We are also excited to announce that Trunk or Treat is back this year. It will be held Oct. 22 in the TCE parking lot. Check out the flyer included for more information. A form to sign up to decorate a trunk will be sent out later.

Nov. 16 is our next PTO meeting. Everyone is welcome! Questions: email [email protected]
