Dear Families,
We are so happy to have our Pioneers back and we hope all had a safe and fun spring break!
We will be hosting a night of fun, hands-on STEAM experiences for your whole family April 8! This is a free event sponsored by the Twin Chimneys PTO. Your student will have artwork displayed throughout the building for you to walk and view the AMAZING pieces our kiddos have created under the leadership of Ms. Farrell. Our last PTO meeting for the year will be at 7 p.m., April 12 in the library. The people elected for President and Treasurer for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years will be announced at that time. We have our Choir and Instrument Concert at 7 p.m., April 13 at West High school. We can’t wait to see you at these events!
As the weather gets nicer we will begin getting the students outside in the sunshine as much as possible. Ensure your child(ren) has appropriate clothing for the ever-changing temperatures. We are nearing the end of an amazing school year, yet there is still SO much learning to be done.
Our 3rd through 5th grade students will be gearing up for the MAP test. Missouri Assessment Program, (MAP), is our state’s standardized assessment that all third through fifth grade students participate in each year across the state of Missouri. All Fort Zumwalt third, fourth and fifth grade students will test in ELA and Math between April 25 and May 20. Fifth graders will also be assessed in Science. It is very important that students are present during this assessment. Students do better when they test in their classrooms with their peers and teacher. It is also very critical that all students have working headphones. These are the same headphones that are on the supply list and can be plugged into the devices used for testing. Wireless headphones will not be permitted this year. We will continue to send you more information as it gets closer. Please contact Mrs. Goerss ([email protected]) if you have any questions or concerns regarding MAP testing.
As always, if you have any questions, celebrations or concerns, please reach out to us. We are better together!
