Safety Patrol members are nominated by their fourth-grade teacher to serve on the subsequent school year as a fifth-grade Safety Patrol member. Students are selected based on leadership, respect for adults and peers, demonstrating classroom and school-wide expectations, and consistently modeling good citizenship. Safety Patrol members ensure the safety of all TCE students before and after school. Students are trained and instructed on school safety and methods. Members will be monitoring hallways and bus boarding and bus exiting, raising/lowering and folding the flag, and a friendly reminder to students to walk and follow safety rules. Safety Patrol members set good examples for other students at all times.
This club meets on selected Monday mornings. If students have a meeting conflict with another club, students may attend the other club. We do not want patrollers to feel they have to make a choice with all the club options. (Members are chosen the year prior.)
